A Small Rebellion
The world keeps asking for my attention.
My phone, my inbox, the next thing to read.
Everyone seems to want a piece of the day
before I've had a chance to keep any of it for myself.
So I open a notebook.
A pen asks nothing of me
except honesty.
No notifications. No urgency.
Only the slow arrival of thoughts
that were waiting patiently beneath the noise.
Perhaps this is enough.
One quiet page... and, for a little while, myself again.
