Finished!!

This quilt was inspired when we traveled to Netherlands many years ago. I fell in love with the Delf colors and had make a quilt. The top was done with English paper piecing and then I put it a way … I started hand quilting, but it was overwhelming… so I put it away again. This year I decided let’s finish it. 😄. Here it is finished. I enjoyed the hand quilting and it was warm and cozy to work on it during the winter. I love it and it will get a special place in my house … not sure where as it is filled with many other special quilts! 😉

The weather here was particularly the past few weeks and I had no energy to sit at my sewing machine … but I added a few more red Sashiko blocks as well as two larger once. I love the rhythm of Sashiko stitching and relaxes me in the evening. I started joining the blocks and the top is almost in half now.

Well I actually cut these beautiful reds the weekend and found a layout for my red shasiko inspired heart blocks. What do you think?

We had stunning weather this Easter weekend and … it was to short for everything I wanted to do. I am thankful I had time to relax and had friends over. Special times.
