Scenario: Battle of Montcornet, 1940

Seven days into the Battle of France, and four days after the German victory at Sedan, the French 4th Armoured Division (4e division cuirassée) under the newly appointed Charles de Gaulle, began a counter attack in the region around Montcornet to disrupt the German advance and buy pre-cious time for Allied forces to prepare defences against the grinding German attack.

Between 1971 and 1976 the West German Luftwaffe (Air Force) procured 263 “Phantom II”; of those 88 were RF-4 E and 175 F-4 F versions, which together equipped six Fighter, Fighter-Bomber, and Reconnaissance Wings. These wings formed the West Germans’ backbone for airborne reconnaissance, conventional ground attack, and airborne air defence.

Thanks to their mix of 1000 lb bombs, cluster munitions and cannons they could deal with any threat on the battlefield with speed and efficiency!
