We're Black Mamba: an ethical business, born in Eswatini (Southern Africa). We make fresh, sustainable foods that taste good, look good and do good! We believe passionately in sustainable farming and source all our organically grown chillies and other ingredient from small local growers through our partner Guba (gubaswaziland.org). They train Swazi smallholders (mostly women) in organic farming an

d permaculture and we buy their delicious, fresh produce - empowering every grower with a sustainable income! (That's what we call a HOT deal!)

The black mamba is one of the most dangerous snakes in Africa... Beware: our range of Chilli Venoms© will strike you with a dangerously tasty bite! They are halaal certified and gluten-free and our HEATquarters have FSSC22000 certification - one of the strictest food safety standards in the world. Black Mamba is a proud member of ESWIFT - the Eswatini Fair Trade Network. Our vision is to become a cult brand connecting chilliheads and ethical foodies across the world to generations of growers, providing proof that people and planet matter!

At Black Mamba, empowering women isn’t something we celebrate once a year. It’s how we’ve chosen to do business since our very first day.

When Black Mamba was founded in 2010, our very first team consisted of one founder and four awesome women. Sixteen years later, that commitment remains at the heart of everything we do.

Today:
💚 24 of our 28 employees are women.
🙋🏾‍♀️Five of our six leaders are women.
👩🏿‍🌾75% of the smallholder farmers we work with are women.
💪 95% of our female employees are the primary breadwinners for their households.

These numbers tell a story, but they don’t tell the whole story.

They don’t capture the resilience we witness every day. The teamwork. The care. The pride in a job well done. Or the sound of laughter and singing echoing through our factory - a reminder that work can also be a place where people feel respected, valued and free to be themselves.

This Women’s Day, we celebrate every woman who grows, creates, leads and inspires at Black Mamba.

Thank you for making our business stronger and our communities brighter. ❤️

And thank you to every customer whose support makes this impact possible.

Happy Women’s Day!!

Some highlights of Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival 💙. It is always a pleasure (and so much fun!) to be part of a gathering that fosters local culture, lifestyle and cuisine. We loved sponsoring the Culinary Indaba and lean into Nguni Foodways, share Black Mamba with the likes of 😍❤️ and Coco & J, giving festival goers a taste (or 2) of our bold African flavours, and enjoy the display of gorgeous fashion with this year’s theme Kwasukasukela (Once Upon a Time).

Thanks so much Luju and see you again next year! 🎤
