Mondays are now for giving back!

Mondays have traditionally been our quieter days, so rather than sitting behind the counter waiting for customers, we’ve decided to put our time to better use. ✨

From now on, Hooked On Happiness will be closed on Mondays so we can spend the day doing volunteer and charity work in our community.

Because happiness isn’t just about what happens inside our little shop — it’s also about sharing it with others.

Less sitting around, more giving back. One stitch, one act of kindness and one happy heart at a time. ✨

A DAISY WITH A PURPOSE 🌼

What started as a simple idea at Hooked On Happiness has grown into something so much bigger than I could have imagined.

The heart behind this project is to help elderly crafters who have the skills to create beautiful clothing, blankets and baby items, but simply cannot afford the wool and supplies.

Our hope is to provide them with the wool they need so they can continue doing what they love — and, if they choose, create beautiful items for underprivileged newborns who need them most.

You voted for the wool colours (Knitspiration won), and the original plan was for Hooked On Happiness to make one Daisy square a day, which would eventually become a beautiful blanket to be raffled to the public.

Then our Tuesday ladies heard about the idea and loved it so much that they wanted to be involved — and now they are making Daisy squares together every Tuesday!

Then my family and friends wanted to be part of it too. Some can’t crochet, so I’m making squares on their behalf, using the colours they choose.

And just like that… Daisy With a Purpose has become a community project.

A project bringing together crafters, families, friends, students and our wider community — all working towards one beautiful goal:

Helping our elderly crafters AND helping our underprivileged newborns.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

1. Pop into Hooked On Happiness and make your own Daisy square.

2. Sponsor a ball of wool for just R35 and help us provide supplies to someone who needs them.

3. Buy a raffle ticket when the blanket is ready and available for the public.

4. Follow our journey on social media and share it with your friends and family.

5. Can’t crochet but want your own special square? Choose your colours and we will make one on your behalf for R100.

Every square, every ball of wool, every contribution and every share helps us get closer to our goal.

These special Daisy squares were made on behalf of my children, Tori & Troi!

This project is so close to my heart, and I would absolutely love for my family and friends to become part of it too. Each square represents someone special and, together, they will form one beautiful blanket made with love, connection and purpose. 🌼
