Robz Simmons The Photographer

Robz Simmons The Photographer Photography found my creative soul and lights the
passion of seeing the detail of the little things life offers us
on this planet.

Inviting you to pause and experience the mystery of rare blues My work is guided by the ocean’s shifting depths and the elusive rarity of blue—colours that surface only under certain light and linger like memory. Very simply, the camera is an extension of my existence in this chaotic and demanding life; the tool to find the stillness within me, to quieten the clatter and to truly connect with the

gifts of Mother Nature. Then...this found me...
The encaustic art form, a dance of wax and fire, is a poetic respect to the natural world. It's a medium that not only captures the essence of the biosphere but also reflects my deep connection with it.

The ocean is my HOME—my refuge, my playground, my breath, the place where I feel whole and held.

But here’s the question: how do we care for what belongs to us? Do we trash it? Do we toss what’s broken into our neighbour’s yard and call it done? Or do we honour it, protect it, and keep it alive for the next breath, the next wave, the next soul who calls it home too?

What a week we had....
“You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
Bob Marley
Whilst I do not have your voice, I can empathise with you.... so much destruction from gale force winds and torrential rain. Living through 180km winds and wondering if we will survive raised the driving inner need to feel safe. One lives on adrenalin which I realised how exhausting this was.
So on my worst meltdown day I took myself to the ocean for a bit of sunrise therapy... to find wind swept waves ... just a choppy mess - which was exactly what I was feeling. The sea mirrored me perfectly - restless, unsettled, undone...
Storms strip us bare. They demand strength we did not know we had, and they leave us changed. In their wake, we learn that resilience is not about standing tall against the wind, but about bending, breaking, and still returning to the shore. The ocean, even in its turmoil, whispered this: you are still here. And sometimes, survival itself is the most profound form of strength.

To witness the birth of a new day—watching the ocean shift its colours like a changing guard—is nothing short of breathtaking. In these moments, I feel profoundly blessed to stand before an expanse stripped of pigment, transformed instead by pure alchemy. The immensity of nature’s unstoppable rhythms humbles me, reminding me how small I am within the vast theatre of the Mother Nature.

Showing up for a Gift
“A wonderful gift may not be wrapped as you expect.” ― Jonathan Lockwood Huie
Yesterday morning was a Big Wave Day .... or so I thought. Sometimes the ocean gives us waves, sometimes it gives us wonder. Yesterday, dolphins chasing fish in golden waters reminded me: gifts arrive in unexpected forms. Thank you🙏🙏🙏

“Landscapes of great wonder and beauty lie under our feet and all around us. They are discovered in tunnels in the ground, the heart of flowers, the hollows of trees, fresh-water ponds, seaweed jungles between tides, and even drops of water. Life in these hidden worlds is more startling in reality than anything we can imagine. How could this earth of ours, which is only a speck in the heavens, have so much variety of life, so many curious and exciting creatures?”
― Walt Disney
Let all of us truly appreciate what we have here, for our world is utterly magnificent! Bass Lake this perfect morning💜.

The weekend was alive with energy at Betty’s — full of gratitude, joy, and moments worth celebrating. Even the ocean joined in, moving as if in dance just for me. A rare blue dance just for me. 🌊💙 🙏
