Every stay has to end somewhere. At Ellerman House, guests don't leave empty-handed. On departure, they're given a 90g chocolate slab with a filling exclusively crafted for Ellerman, presented in branded packaging. Everything, from the filling to the packaging, is made in-house by our team.

Whether it gets opened on the way to the airport or saved for when they're home, it's a small piece of their Bantry Bay stay that goes with them.

Above the Atlantic, in Bantry Bay, sits Ellerman House. A historic Edwardian manor, home to one of South Africa's most significant private art collections, that feels less like a hotel than a private Cape Town home.

Every evening, the team turns down the rooms, and some nights guests are lucky enough to find our chocolate at their bedside. We wanted these images to show what it feels like to walk back into your room at the end of the day and find it there.

Every piece of chocolate we make passes through human hands more than once. It's tempered, filled and finished by our chocolatiers in Cape Town, one piece at a time. 🍫

It's work you learn slowly. You learn to tell by feel when chocolate is ready, how thin a shell should be, and when a filling is just right. No machine has the same patience, and we wouldn't want it to.

To celebrate our craft and show where our handmade chocolate creates special moments, we worked together with hotel partners , , , and , and with talented photographer and his team, to capture them.

Over the next few weeks, we'll share those sweet moments guests experience at each of these properties, one experience at a time.

This Heritage Day, we're celebrating the flavours that make us proudly South African, and we've teamed up with Stellenzicht Wines to give away the ultimate pairing. 🍫🍷
