Set it once. Forget it's there. Remember it's there the second you need it.

The V5 dials to your height and width, cinches down with a wide elastic strap and a lock buckle, and doesn't budge from there - rock gardens, switchbacks, doesn't matter. Ripstop shell, breathable mesh against your back, room for a 2L bladder with a foil cooler if you want the full setup.

Some mornings the mountain gives you fog. Some mornings it gives you this.

Lion's Head, before the city wakes up - legs still remembering yesterday's session, lungs still arguing about today's. This is what PUFfeR training actually looks like. Not the finish line. The 5am alarm. The climb when nobody's watching. The moment you stand on the edge of something and realize you're not scared of it anymore - you just respect it.

To everyone grinding through the long runs, the hill repeats, the sessions that don't feel like progress yet: it is. Every step on this mountain is a deposit. Race day just lets you withdraw it.

The summit doesn't care how you feel. Show up anyway.

Some climbs in the Cape don't ask nicely - they just point straight up through sandstone and fynbos until your legs stop arguing and start listening. That's race day.

The V4 Trail Runner rides tight through every one of those pushes, two flasks locked in, kit exactly where you packed it, so the only fight left is the one against the hill. See you out there.
