A Morpho Butterfly wing fragment set in Sterling Silver 🦋

This fragment is from a wing that is 91 years old - yes you read that right, 91 YEARS OLD!
I was so incredibly lucky to come across some butterfly wings from 1935 & could not believe that after 91 years they were still intact (& not immediately turning to dust when touched 😅)
The wings weren’t in great condition.. but instead of just discarding them, I desperately wanted to try save what I could & give them new life - it’s what they deserve!
These are the wings that the fragment came from 🥹 If you’ve seen Morpho butterflies you’ll know the absolute brilliance of their iridescent colour! These tiny bits are all that was left of that colour.
A memory of a beautiful creature that lived almost 100 years ago, that deserves to be admired & respected as it is an honour to live in a world where they exist 🩵
