From one little garage to a whole lot of Naughty Monster.

Once the idea for Naughty Monster was born, it was time to make it happen.

In 2013, the first sewing machine arrived at our founder's garage in Bloubergstrand.

With one tailor, Maruh — affectionately known as “Rasta” — and our founder screen printing the designs herself, Naughty Monster started making its very first garments.

It wasn't always easy.

There were challenges, setbacks and plenty of hard work along the way. But the vision never changed:

Create fun, colourful, good-quality clothing that celebrates South Africa.

And it grew.

In 2015, Naughty Monster moved into its factory in Paarden Eiland, where we're still making our clothes today.

What started with one sewing machine has grown into a Naughty Monster family of 25 people, with the capacity to produce over 800 garments a day.

That's a pretty big journey from a garage.

And we're incredibly proud that the Naughty Monster story is still being made right here in Cape Town.

MEET NAUGHTY MONSTER

It all started with a love for Cape Town… 🇿🇦

Back in 2009, Naughty Monster was born from a simple idea:

Why couldn't children's clothing be fun, colourful, exciting and proudly South African?

After moving to Cape Town with two busy little children, our founder was inspired by the incredible colours, wildlife, culture and personality of our beautiful country.

But when it came to children's clothing for tourists, everything seemed a little… well… generic.

So Naughty Monster decided to do things differently.

Bright. Bold. Fun. And passionately South African.

What started as an idea has grown into a proudly local clothing business creating clothing and accessories for little ones, right here in Cape Town.

And we're only getting started. ❤️
