UNPOPULAR OPINION: nobody warns you about the content creation overstimulation that comes with running a small business in 2026. 😅

One minute you’re comfortably hiding behind product shots. The next you’re expected to be in every video, be interesting, be consistent, be everywhere — all while an algorithm you don’t understand decides if anyone even sees it.

It’s uncomfortable. It’s vulnerable. It’s intimidating knowing some people will love it and some won’t, and there’s nothing you can do about that. It’s overwhelming trying to filter through a hundred “creators” telling you how to do it “the right way.” And it’s genuinely demoralising putting your heart into something that lands on 120 views and 2 likes.

6 years into building this brand and content creation still doesn’t come naturally to me. But be seen or be forgotten, right?

They say “overnight success”... but they don’t see the years behind it.

There was nothing glamorous about packing orders after work until midnight.

Or taking a leap of faith and walking away from a steady salary.

Or reinvesting every spare cent back into the business instead of paying myself.

Or moving to London, becoming a first-time mom, and learning how to run a South African business from the other side of the world—with a baby on my hip, no childcare and no family nearby.

Looking back now, those moments were shaping something far bigger than I realised.

This carousel isn’t really about jewellery.

It’s about taking chances, starting before you’re ready, figuring it out as you go, and believing in something long before anyone else does.

And most of all, it’s about you.

Every order, every message, every recommendation to a friend, every tag, every review... you’ve helped build Collective & Co. into what it is today.

Thank you for believing in this dream.
