GAS SHORTAGE 16 JULY 2025
The shortage continues and from what I am told, there are sinister shenanigans happening in the industry. We now only expect deliveries to our business on Wed 18 July. If you find gas please make sure that you know exactly who you are buying from is reputable. There is a lot of illegal and dangerous 'cross filling' going on.
If the cylinders are sealed with a clear plastic seal instead of the branded seal, it is ILLEGAL.
Please take pictures and forward them to us, preferably with the details of the supplier

GAS SHORTAGE 11 JULY 2025
The supply of LPG is via (ship) tankers that deliver to Saldanha Bay. The LPG is offloaded into tanks at the refinery (THIS HAS HAPPENED).
Road tankers deliver to the depots (similar to Petrol stations) and then it gets decanted into cylinders to deliver to us. We, Gas Appliance Centre, supply the public. We expect the first deliveries from suppliers on Saturday night and Monday midday from different suppliers. We aim to be able to supply by Monday after 3pm.
Please be mindful of those who have run out of gas, especially the elderly. Only order if you are completely out of gas - the shortage will be over by Tuesday.

PS - the 19kgs are a problem. Stock of the cylinders is critical and has been like this since January this year

14 July update
The supply of LPG seems to have settled in the short term. We have stock of 9kgs (plenty!) and 48kgs. The 14kg and 19kg remain a problem because there are NO empties available.
It does sound strange that there is a shortage of 19kgs because there are so many in circulation. The problem is the 19kgs are out supplying homes, but the back up stock to exchange is in short supply. Hope this makes sense?

10 July update
The stock situation is MUCH improved but I suspect that it will turn again soon. At the moment we have loads of stock but that can change in an hour.

2 July Gas update
We are finally receiving gas from our suppliers. The 9kgs are available but the 14, 19, and 48kgs are still in short supply due to shortages of the cylinders. There is a delay of a few days for us to deliver and supply these sizes.
