Oasis Charity Shops Cape Town From clothing, books, bric-a-brac to furniture and art, our Oasis Charity Shops offer more than affordability alone.

Shoppers will find high quality items and attentive staff. Income from our shops supports our intellectually disabled beneficiaries. Oasis aims to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Intellectually disabled people often face discrimination and barriers that restrict them from participating in society on an equal basis. They are often denied their rights to be included in the general school system, to be employed, to live independently in the community, to move freely, and to participate in sport and cultural activities. In 1952 a group of parents found a solution to the problem of their children being excluded from mainstream society when they started their own school – an oasis – for children with intellectual disability. Today, the Oasis Association is a model of integrated services. We are committed to assisting both children and adults with intellectual disabilities to live a dignified life, providing them with residential housing and for the over 18’s with access to work opportunities so that they can contribute to their communities and increase their sense of self-worth. We also provide holistic support in the form of transport, occupational therapy, life and work skills training and sport and recreation opportunities. Oasis provides over 370 intellectually disabled individuals with a safe and protective working environment where they can, receive a stipend and other benefits, earn new skills and gain a level of freedom. We also provide residential housing for over 450 men, women and children in the greater Cape Town area. We provide this care and support ourselves through a number of programmes and projects including our recycling initiatives, the bakery, the bric-a-brac stores and our coffee shops. For more information on our programmes and projects, visit www.oasis.org.za. If you would like to get involved, email [email protected]

'I walked away from Oasis thoroughly touched and reminded that inclusion is about so much more than policies and good intentions. It is about creating environments where every person has an opportunity to participate, contribute and belong.'

Thank you Eva Moloi for supporting Oasis Association.

🌸SPRING CLEANING IS IN THE AIR 🌸
Out with the unloved, in with the giving!

Feeling that spring-clean itch? We hear you! Those books gathering dust, that jacket you swore you'd wear again, all those household bits and bobs — give them a second life at one of our Oasis Charity Shops.

Every item you drop off becomes someone else's happy find — and helps us create brighter futures for our beneficiaries with intellectual disabilities. Win-win! 🎉

So go on, clear that cupboard, feel the joy of a good declutter, and make someone's day (or two, or three) in the process!

Drop-off at one of our Oasis Charity Shops:
