A mirror ball anywhere you can hang one. No plug required.

The Fuzzix MBW18LED is a battery-powered, low-noise mirror ball motor for balls up to 2kg, with 18 coloured LEDs built into the housing — so the ball gets its own light source and you don't need a separate pinspot aimed at it. Stand-alone or sound-activated modes: hang it, switch it on, leave it.

It's the answer to the venue where there's simply no power near the ceiling — marquees, barns, hall beams, a pergola over a dancefloor. Especially in the dark, the effect is exactly what people expect a mirror ball to do.

Nobody compliments the background music system. That's how you know it's working.

The Adastra A6 is a 2U mixer-amplifier that runs six output zones at up to 200W each — a rotary switch per zone picks its source from two rear stereo inputs, a front 3.5mm input or the built-in media player with USB, SD, Bluetooth and FM. Two microphone inputs go live to every zone for announcements. Restaurant floor, gym, terrace, retail — each space gets its own sound from one box behind the counter.

The mic dies during the speeches. Every time, it's the battery.

This is the Hybrid USV/UDV MKIII rechargeable battery — the replacement pack for the handheld units of the USV MKIII and UDV MKIII wireless microphone systems. R73 each.

The habit worth building: one charged spare per microphone, living in the case. Charge them between events, swap them at the interval, and you never have to walk up to a live mic during a speech. It's the cheapest insurance in a wireless rig, and it's the failure we get called about most.

Your whole light show carries in one hand.

The BeamZ CC63B is a G-shaped screw clamp for light effects: universal fit on poles and truss tube up to 55mm diameter, rated to 30kg. It's the cheapest component in the whole rig and the only one standing between a fixture and the dancefloor.

Three habits worth having: buy more than you need so a stripped thread never ends a setup, check every wing bolt before doors open, and always run a safety cable in addition to the clamp — the clamp holds the weight, the cable catches the mistake.

These don't flatter your mix. That's the point.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M70X is the top of the M-Series — a critical-listening monitor tuned flat so what you hear is what's actually on the track, not a nicer version of it. For mixing, mastering, broadcast and edit work where a flattering headphone is a liability: if it sounds good on these, it sounds good everywhere.

That buzz through the PA when the laptop's plugged in? R173 fixes it.

The Hybrid DB-01 is a passive direct-inject box, and it solves two problems at once. First, it converts an unbalanced instrument or line output into a balanced signal, so it survives a long cable run to the desk without picking up noise. Second, the ground-lift switch breaks the earth loop that causes hum when two powered devices share a stage but not a socket.

Guitar, bass, keyboard, DJ laptop, tablet, the AV feed from someone's presentation — it all behaves once it goes through a DI. There's also a parallel output so you can feed a stage amp and the desk at the same time, and a pad for hot sources.
