Dad, we see you.

This Father's Day, we're celebrating the men who showed up, the V&A Way.

The father figures who taught us how to braai, how to parallel park, how to stay calm under pressure, and sometimes, how to laugh at ourselves.

The ones who made time.
Who showed up.
Who cared in ways big and small.

Now it's your turn to celebrate them.

Tell us about the father figure in your life and what your perfect day together at the V&A Waterfront would look like.

Would it be coffee by the harbour, a visit to Zeitz MOCAA, a ride on the Cape Wheel, a winter lunch with a view, a little shopping, or simply time spent together?

Comment below and tell us:
* Who you're celebrating
* Your relationship to them
* Your dream V&A Waterfront day together

✨ We might just make that day happen on us.

Entries open from 9–17 June.

Plus, keep an eye on our channels for daily giveaways and special Father's Day surprises from 18–21 June.

Celebrating the wonders beneath the surface.

This World Ocean Day, we're shining a light on the extraordinary marine life found in the waters around us.
Meet the pink meanie jelly, one of the ocean's rarest and most fascinating jellyfish species. With tentacles stretching more than three metres in length, this remarkable predator feeds on other jellies and is notoriously difficult to care for, making encounters like this exceptionally rare.

In fact, the Two Oceans Aquarium remains the only aquarium in the world to have successfully exhibited multiple pink meanies together, offering unique insights into one of the ocean's most elusive species.

Visit the Jelly Gallery at the Two Oceans Aquarium and meet this rare ocean wonder up close.

We’re excited to share the latest from our neighbourhood.

We recently launched the new Circular Maker Space, operated by the Craft and Design Institute. The initiative provides designers, makers and creative entrepreneurs with access to tools, networks and support, further strengthening our neighbourhood as a hub for makers and entrepreneurs.

We also welcomed the seventh cohort of food businesses into our Makers Landing Kitchen Incubator Programme, delivered in partnership with Property Point. Since inception, the programme has supported 44 SMMEs and continues to strengthen South Africa’s food ecosystem while helping build a more inclusive and resilient local economy.

Our upcoming Quay 7 Superyacht Marina Development was recognised at the Western Cape Economy Innovation Awards in the Infrastructure and Connectivity category. The development will further position Cape Town in the global ocean economy while supporting growth across tourism, marine manufacturing, hospitality and marine repair sectors, contributing to job creation.

This World Environment Day, we're reminded that meaningful change starts with the choices we make today.

As a neighbourhood shaped by the ocean and connected to millions of people each year, we're committed to creating a future that balances people, place and planet. From conserving water and reducing waste to generating renewable energy and supporting a more sustainable ocean economy, sustainability is embedded in how we operate and evolve as a neighbourhood.

But creating lasting impact is a collective effort. It requires innovation, collaboration and a shared commitment to protecting the environment while building a more resilient future for generations to come.

Because the future of our neighbourhood and our planet depends on the actions we take today.

What does the future sound like?

Three weeks ago, we heard it loud and clear.

From months of rehearsals to a winning performance on the Amphitheatre stage, Settlers High School reminded us what happens when young talent is given a platform to shine.

Their win was more than a moment. It was a glimpse of what's possible when creativity, courage and opportunity meet.

As we celebrate Youth Month, we're reminded that tomorrow's stories are already being written by the young people around us, on stages, in classrooms and in communities.

This is what a neighbourhood shaped by tomorrow's stories looks like.

Every day, new stories are taking shape in the neighbourhood.

From young creatives and future changemakers to the people, spaces, and ideas shaping what’s next, June is a celebration of tomorrow’s stories already unfolding here.

This Youth Month, we celebrate the people and moments helping build the future, one story at a time.

Welcome to June at the V&A Waterfront.
