Join us on Tuesday, the 6th of October for the launch of Original Apartheid Hustler by Benjamin Lawrance and Vusumuzi Kumalo. Both authors will be in conversation with Christi van Dee Westhuizen.

Based on archival research and interviews from Dugmore Boetie’s family and friends today, Benjamin Lawrance and Vusumuzi Kumalo take the reader on a quest to understand Boetie’s background, his resilient self-fashioning and struggle to find his place as an artist and writer, and his collaborations and interactions with prominent intellectuals.

Join us on Wednesday, the 23rd of September for the launch of Lilian Ngoyi: A Life by Martha Evans. She will be in conversation with Nancy Richards.

I absolutely love being a part of the Book Lounge’s Feminist Book Club, the meetings are always one of the things I look forward to most every month, so I cannot wait for the Feminist Book Club event with Lebogang Matseke! Here are a couple of the other events that I am looking forward to:

Reflections on Parents, Displaced People, Q***r Coming of Age, (Re) Building Home, Directors Choice ‘’

We asked our staff members what they are most excited for the Open Book and this is what Rebekah shared!
