Join us for a Basket Weaving Workshop with master weaver Boithoko Jeremiah, travelling from Botswana to join us at the Old Church Hall.. She will have 2 assistants to help when things get tricky!

We will teach you how to start. This is the most difficult part. And then we will show you to incorporate different stitches and or colours, if you wish.

You can make a bowl basket or you can make a flat mat. Your choice.

Just after the Ethiopian trip, Binky went straight to Botswana for another workshop

What began as a collaboration with the remarkable Hambukushu and Bayei weavers of north-west Botswana, has come full circle. Returning for a second year with Impact Fund Botswana, this ongoing partnership continues to deepen. Rooted in shared knowledge, trust and a deep respect for tradition.

We have had the privilege of working alongside extremely talented weavers. Amongst them was an eleven-year-old girl who, having watched her Mother weave for many years, tried her own basket. This basket will be on exhibition on the 30th May.

It’s a small but powerful reminder that these traditions are not only being preserved, but willingly carried forward, offering real hope that the art of weaving will continue to live on for generations to come.

These pieces will move from process to presentation, into an exhibition that celebrates not only craftsmanship, but continuity. A living practice, shaped by many hands.

Details to follow.

I recently returned from a sourcing trip to Ethiopia - a place that always leaves me feeling inspired.

I found the most beautiful, authentic pieces. Objects shaped by hand, tradition and time. And I am so pleased to be able to bring these pieces back to South Africa and to share them with a broader, global audience.

Some of the pieces are incredibly special - the kind you don’t come across often.

More to follow soon.

Kaasa from Mali - this particular piece is one of a kind, the only one we have.

This blanket is a traditional, handwoven wool textile made by a Fulani artisan. Woven in long, narrow strips and then joined, it carries the rhythm of the loom.

Originally used for warmth and everyday life, it has since taken on a new role. With a shift in how we live and collect, these pieces are now reimagined as wall hangings, textiles, and works of art within contemporary, organic spaces.

What remains unchanged is their essence: the texture of hand-spun wool, the irregularity, and the human touch.

Available to view at our Hares Avenue showroom.

We’re at the market this weekend, as always ;)

Now just across the road in the new space and still very much a vibe (arguably even more so).

Good coffee, great finds and even better chats with Dereck and Thandi.

Pop by, come say hi and stay longer than you planned.
