Event Update: A very flat winter, complete with unprecedented South Easterlies, has dashed our ability to find a contestable day within our waiting period. An extension to the waiting period has been requested and confirmed until 15 Sept by SANParks, the chief permitting authority.
We are, as always, hoping for the best, whilst preparing for the worst. We will not run in marginal conditions and understand that the nature of our chosen sport means that we will have good years and bad years - this year has been incredibly challenging to forecast and we simply have not seen a contestable day yet. That said, we wish to honour these surfers and spot and will keep looking to new formats and innovation to ensure that we can reward the surfers who put in the time and ride these giants. And who knows - we may be rewarded with a swell yet!
