Bathu Counterfeits
It has come to our attention that there are a number of individuals and outlets that are distributing imitations of Bathu.
We are working hard at always being a step ahead of this type of criminal behavior. There are a number of large brands that have had to deal with this unfortunate issue, that will continue to exist and tamper with any thriving business.
With this statement, our sole aim at Bathu is to protect our customers and assist in ensuring that you do not find yourself in possession of an imitation of any of our Bathu sneakers. In order to avoid the possibility of purchasing a counterfeit Bathu, here are various ways in which you can ensure that your Bathu is genuine:
A. There are only 3 (three) ways in which a genuine Bathu can be purchased:
1. At any of the 4 (four) Bathu outlets:
- Johannesburg: Newton Junction Mall
- Pretoria: Helen Joseph Road
- Port Elizabeth: Green Acres Mall
- Bloemfontein: Mimosa Mall
2. You can purchase through our online store, on WWW.BATHU.CO.ZA
3. You can place an order on WhatsApp, using this number 071 854 7323
B. Under your shoe (the bottom sole), there are 4 ways to identify if your Bathu is genuine or not:
1. On the original Bathu design, which most of our customers have, there are circles with “crosses” in them. This will apply for the Mesh Edition and the Mesh Limited
*This sole design is in the process of being discontinued
2. On our latest Bathu design, there are circles with the Bathu Logo in them. This would apply for the Mesh Edition and the Mesh Limited.
3. The bottom of the Leather and Premium Suede Journey only has lines moving in different directions
4. On the 2.0 Mesh Edition, the bottom sole has rivets
C. Should you receive the original sole design, in your box, you should get the following:
- An extra pair of shoe laces
- An extra pair of soles
*This will apply for the Mesh Edition and Mesh Limited
D. Should you purchase the new Mesh Edition, Mesh Limited, 2.0 Mesh Edition as well as the Leather and Premium Suede Journey, you will not receive an extra pair of inner soles and laces, as we’ve improved the comfort of our inner sole for a better fit
E. Your purchase must have a receipt with the Bathu logo and a unique receipt number
I am aware of all our customers that have been tagging us in an effort to alert us of what is happening. I cannot reply to all of you, but know that I acknowledge and appreciate you. We will continue to find innovative ways to separate ourselves from international and even local vultures.
