I THOUGHT I WAS CLEANING MY BEDROOM. GOD WAS SHOWING ME MY JOURNEY.

Today I decided to clear out some old things.

Then I started finding pieces of my life from 2019.

📖 Old Finweek magazines — I have always been fascinated by business, markets and how money moves.

🏠 Property investment material — I wanted to understand how wealth and assets are built.

💰 A Debt Eradication Course — because whenever I faced a problem, my instinct was to find a solution.

Then I found my handwritten notebooks.

And this stopped me.

Years before The Waiting Room became a published book, I had written:

“What is this waiting season teaching me? Who am I becoming in this waiting season?”

I was coming out of a manufacturing business failure, trying to make sense of what had happened and what should come next.

Then I saw another question I had written:

“What should I be doing?”

Today, I help people answer that very question.

What am I called to do?
What do I have in my hands?
How do I move from vision to ex*****on?

Suddenly, I could see it.

The woman writing those questions in 2019 didn’t know she was living the material she would one day teach.

My waiting season wasn’t wasted.

I was accumulating lessons, knowledge, resilience and wisdom for an assignment I couldn’t yet see.

I have failed.
I have started again.
I have learned.
I have rebuilt.

And I continue to rise.

I fail forward.

September in The Waiting Room is about Authority & Stewardship — Luke 16:10.

And today I am reminded that stewardship is not only about what is in your hands now.

It is also about what your journey has taught you.

Don’t waste the lesson.
Don’t bury the experience.
Don’t despise the season.

It may contain the oil for your next assignment.

SUNDAY IN THE WAITING ROOM 🙏🏾

SEPTEMBER: THE MONTH OF OPEN DOORS 🚪

September is not just about asking God to open doors.

It is about becoming ready for what is on the other side.

There are seasons when God develops you behind closed doors—and seasons when He begins opening doors that preparation has made you capable of walking through.

This September, our declaration is:
THE DOOR IS OPEN. I AM READY TO WALK THROUGH IT.

But not every door looks the same.

🚪 1. DOUBLE DOORS OF FAVOUR

Isaiah 45:1–2

There are barriers you cannot negotiate your way through.

God says He will go before you, level mountains and break gates.

September declaration:
May favour give me access where effort alone could never take me.

🚪 2. DOORS OF UTTERANCE

Colossians 4:3

Your next door may not look like money.

It may look like a microphone, a meeting, a room, a conversation, an introduction or an audience.

When God gives you the room, will you have something worth saying?

September declaration:
May my voice enter the rooms my feet have not yet entered.

🚪 3. DOORS OF DELIVERANCE

1 Corinthians 10:13

Not every open door takes you into something.

Some doors take you out.

Out of cycles.
Out of compromise.
Out of relationships that have expired.
Out of environments that keep shrinking you.

September declaration:
I will recognise the exit when God provides it.

🚪 4. DOORS OF FAITH

Acts 14:27

Some doors will require faith because you will not have all the answers before you enter.

You may have confirmation without certainty.

Direction without the entire map.

September declaration:
I refuse to allow fear to keep me standing outside a door God has opened.

🚪 5. DOORS OF PROVISION

Genesis 22:14

Abraham discovered Jehovah Jireh at the place of obedience.

Sometimes we are waiting for provision before moving, while God has positioned provision along the path of obedience.

September declaration:
I will move when God says move and trust Him for what the assignment requires.

🚪 6. DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY

Revelation 3:8

God says:

“See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”

But an open door is not an automatic outcome.

Opportunity still requires stewardship.
Favour still requires character.
Visibility still requires substance.
Provision still requires wisdom.
And an open door still requires you to WALK THROUGH IT.

SUNDAY REFLECTION

What if the door you have been praying about opened this September?

Would your capacity match the opportunity?

Would your discipline sustain the blessing?

Would your character survive the visibility?

Would you recognise the door—or would fear make you call it “not the right time”?

Perhaps September's prayer shouldn't only be:

“God, open the door.”

Perhaps it should become:

“God, make me ready for the doors You are opening.”

🙏🏾 SEPTEMBER PRAYER

Father, as I journey through September, go before me.

Open doors of favour, utterance, deliverance, faith, provision and opportunity.

Close every counterfeit door.

Give me discernment to recognise what You are opening, courage to leave what You are closing, and discipline to steward what You place in my hands.

Prepare me for the rooms I have been praying to enter.

I will not spend this month standing outside an open door.

I AM READY TO WALK THROUGH.

Amen.
