This Handcrafted Ginger Beer is made by Master Brewer, Astrid Bredenkamp. She has been crafting beverages for over twelve years, specializing in beer. She initially studied wine-making while a student in Stellenbosch, at the Cape Wine Academy, working on wine farms as well. Thereafter she has worked as a Brewer for a large international brewing company, managing various aspects of brewing such as
quality management, food safety, daily production, as well as building new breweries. She is especially proud of winning a Monde Grand Golde Award for excellent quality in the brand Castle Milk Stout, when she was the brewer for this brand. She has also successfully managed production of international franchise brands such as Peroni. A qualified Master Brewer, with an M.Brew qualification from the Institute of Brewing and Distillling, she has worked a brewing consultant and is now perfecting her own Ginger Beer. She has experimented with craft beers over the last couple of years and she started developing handcrafted ginger beer in June of this year. The Traditional Ginger beer was developed using traditional recipes and methods, and honed until it had a balanced ginger taste with a pleasant sweetness, without being too sweet, and a satisfying fizz when you open the bottle. The ginger beer is made using a natural fermentation process so it has the goodness of probiotics in it. It is based in Doringkloof, Centurion. The production is on a small scale allowing the ginger beer to be handmade by the master brewer. However, the expertise of large-scale brewing is also applied. The beverage goes through various quality control measures to provide a consistent, high quality product to every consumer.
