A simple change makes a difference to birds and insects . We replaced a row of sterile Agave ( which do nothing for any insect or bird ) with 9 Aloe chabaudii. A meal for sunbirds and bees . Easy but meaningful change .

Do you love flowers in your garden ? Tephrosia grandiflora is your plant . Pink Pea flowers all year , with a short rest in winter . Carpenter bees love them . They self seed everywhere - happy accidents I call them . They are R30 ea in the nursery . Will we see you tomorrow to get yours ?

Of course, this is relevant for the dry winter areas and not the Western Cape right now but did you know that birds and bees need a little help from you in July because they get thirsty….😩 Such an easy way to turn your winter garden into a sanctuary for these little creatures

Drimia elata: an absolute gem. This precious pant is disappearing in the wild and I encourage everyone to plant at least one in their gardens at home
