At the Toronto Film Festival, Mattel Studios' Robbie Brenner talked about their interest in a live-action Barbie sequel. The timing's still up in the air, but they're looking into casting.

Mattel's teaming up with Illumination (the people who made Despicable Me and Secret Life of Pets) on an animated Barbie movie. Exciting stuff!

Barbie Nutcracker Anniversary - the 2001 animated classic cam around again in 2006. And guess what? There's a fresh 45-minute reimagined animated holiday special in November 2026!

🐋At this time of the year Mermaids are holidaying at the Southern African coast with their friends, the whales. When they get a chance to come ashore and their tails magically turn into legs, they do need a wardrobe that they can mix and match for all their land adventures. It should even have a swimming costume that they can wear when partying at the rivers, lakes or swimming pools, because everyone knows that their tails only appear when they're in the sea! 🐚This mermaid capsule wardrobe is inspired by one we recently put together for a customer. It features a mermaid top, tail, and tiara, plus a t-shirt and shorts, leggings and a sweater, two skirts, a summer dress and hat, a bead necklace, un**es, and… a shellphone to let their moms know they've arrived safely.
