❄️☃️❄️☃️❄️☃️ the cold is coming. Keep warm

🌧️ A spectacular cold front is clearly visible on the latest satellite imagery as it approaches the Western Cape. This system is set to arrive during the early hours of Thursday, bringing a noticeable change in weather conditions.

Residents in the Western Cape can expect scattered showers, fresh to strong winds and a significant drop in temperatures as the front moves through. During Thursday, the colder, wetter weather will spread eastwards along the Southern Cape coastline, with parts of the Eastern Cape also seeing rain and cooler conditions by evening.

Meanwhile, much of the central and north-eastern interior of South Africa will remain dry, sunny and relatively comfortable.

Looking ahead, all eyes are on a much stronger weather system expected from Sunday into Monday. A cold front, together with a cut-off low, is forecast to bring widespread cold, wet and windy conditions to the southern parts of the country. There is also the potential for very rough seas, localized flooding in susceptible areas and difficult conditions for livestock.

Although no Impact-Based Warnings have been issued at this stage, farmers and residents in affected areas are encouraged to begin preparing for the colder conditions. Storm Report SA will continue to monitor the system closely and provide updates as confidence in the forecast increases.
