Hi, everyone! After pouring my heart and soul into this endeavor, I’ve reached a point where it’s simply too much to manage alongside homeschooling my son. I had hoped I could do the baskets simultaneously, but I’ve realised that they were taking too much time away from him. ❤️
After a little break, I plan to focus on finishing planning my Grade R curriculum for my son. Once I’m finished with that, I would love to continue making baskets if time allows, but strictly for sale rather than for rental.
One thing I’ve learned through this process is that it’s extremely difficult to find high-quality children’s books at affordable prices in South Africa. Availability is also surprisingly low for many beloved and popular books. And when I do manage to snag an affordable copy of something, the price can sometimes be tripled the next day, or out of stock indefinitely! 😩
If I do make more baskets in the future, I may simply provide a curated list of books that will work with the basket theme, and then the customer can look for the best deals themselves or check their local library.
