Tomorrow evening the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra performs at the Linder Auditorium, featuring the internationally acclaimed piano duo Xin Wang and Florian Koltun in Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos, K.365.

Piano Industry has had the privilege of preparing and tuning the two concert grand pianos for this performance.

We wish the soloists, conductor Daniel Boico, and the entire orchestra every success for an outstanding concert.

Precision restoration in progress: Our master technician is meticulously attending to a distinguished Steinway grand piano, this time on location, in beautiful Cape Town.

The hammerheads – shown here in their original worn condition alongside freshly unpacked replacements – play a critical role in determining the instrument's tone, dynamic response, and overall expressive capability. Over time, felt compression and hardening diminish clarity and control, necessitating expert replacement to restore the piano's legendary voice.

Using premium materials and years of specialised knowledge, we ensure that every adjustment preserves the authentic character of this exceptional instrument while enhancing its performance for years to come.

At Piano Industry, we are committed to the highest standards of craftsmanship in piano restoration and maintenance.
