One of the greatest gifts of this journey has been the people I’ve met along the way — artists who leave a mark not just on a space, but on me.

From a childhood in the gold-rush town of Barberton, with the freedom of open land and curious hands, Harem learned to see the world differently. That curiosity carried him across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and far-flung islands, where encounters with ancient societies, artefacts and belief systems quietly shaped a lifelong fascination with the origins of humanity and our place in the universe. That fascination lives deeply in his work.

The Sound Harvest collection feels less like something made and more like something uncovered — artefacts from another time, shaped by memory, myth and lived experience.Their forms echo objects once used in ritual and daily life, while sound and frequency — always moving through and around us — become central to the work, reminding us of their power to connect, attune and heal.

From the very first time I saw them, I was blown away by the way they resonate on a physical level before anything else. They slow me down. They ask for presence.

I’m deeply moved by Harem’s work, and by the depth of thought, history and humanity held within each vessel. To share space and time with these pieces — and to know the journey behind them — feels incredibly special.

Let it linger.

Yes, the Christmas decorations are still up, in quiet defiance of a world that’s always rushing forward.
But some things ask to linger.
Some moments deserve a little more time.

Just a few more days.

It's not about the ones untouched or the pristine, but the ones that have been held, used, broken, and cared for enough to continue.

For me the repairs are where the magic lives.
They are evidence of both love and intention, of refusal, of someone deciding that this object still mattered.
Not to restore it to what it once was, but to allow it to become what it is now.
These marks are not flaws to be hidden. They are gestures, small acts of devotion that stretch an object’s story across generations.
Where beauty deepens: in the mending, the patience, the quiet resilience of things made to last.

I have always been drawn to objects that carry a story — pieces shaped by time, by hand, by place.
I had long been searching for jewellery made from a place of passion, not of commodity.
Then I met Faith Baloyi, the maker behind Negritude, and I felt that familiar recognition.
Not jewellery as trend or ornament, but as language.
Wearable Africanisms — forms that speak quietly, but with certainty.

Sometimes, I sit here alone in my shop and simply take it all in. I imagine the remote African villages where these pieces are born — the murmur of conversation, bursts of laughter, the earthy scent of fires burning, hands working slowly and with intention.

The truth is, I didn’t start this business — it started me. It’s been an evolving journey of joy, fulfillment, and lessons that have shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever.

I’ve always wanted Trov to reveal itself naturally, not through borrowed aesthetics or fleeting trends, but through an identity rooted in depth, honesty, and soul. An essence that speaks quietly, but unmistakably.

In a world obsessed with speed and polish, it’s tempting to shift the approach to appeal to the masses, but I don't want that, I want authenticity, connection, and preservation.

So, if you’re looking for perfect, polished, and glossy, this might not be the right page. But if you’re drawn to story, texture, and meaning — you’re exactly where you belong.

2026 begins without noise.

We're excited to continue doing what we believe in: honouring origin, craft, traditions and people.
Imagining times and places before our own and finding ways ways to marry the past and present.

✨️As we close the chapter on 2025, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for walking this journey with me.
The continued support and encouragement has meant everything — it’s the reason TROV still exists.

This year asked a lot. It challenged me creatively, physically, emotionally and professionally, but it also offered invaluable lessons. Through every high and low, my heart remains full — full of gratitude, perspective, and a deeper understanding of purpose.
2025 reminded me of what is important and why staying true to our roots is always worth it.
To this community, collectors, collaborators, and supporters: thank you for valuing the hands, histories, and traditions behind each piece.

As I step into 2026, I cannot help but feel excited for what is to come!

Wishing you a new year filled with intention, abundance, and inspiration ✨

When time sits lightly...

Shaped long ago and shaped today, these objects speak to one another through form and touch. Old and new, not in contrast, but in conversation — a story still unfolding.
The perfect juxtaposition exists in complete harmony.
