report the loss as the victim of a crime.

Competency is not at risk.

The fi***rm owner has done everything necessary to ensure that he/she cannot be found guilty of
one or more of these offences under Sections 102, 103 and 120 of the Fi****ms Control Act:
102. (1)(d) . . failed to take the prescribed steps for the safekeeping of the fi***rm
103. (1)(c) . . failure to store fi***rms or am******on in accordance with the requirements of the Act;
120. (8)(a) . . fails to lock away his or her fi***rm or a fi***rm in his or her possession in a prescribed safe
120. (8)(i) . . failure to lock the fi***rm away in a prescribed safe;

Vehicle Fi***rm Safe Legality Clarification
1. Fi****ms Control Act - Section 83
“Fi****ms and am******on must be stored and transported in the prescribed manner.”

2. Fi****ms Control Regulations – Regulation 86.(1)
“When a fi***rm is not under the direct personal and physical control of a holder of a licence . the fi***rm and its am******on must be stored in a safe . . . that conforms to the prescripts
of SABS Standard 953-1 . . .”

3. Storage of Fi****ms and Am******on SANS 953-1 – Clause 3.11
Type B3 fi***rms safes are for temporary storage of fi***rms and am******on in motor
vehicles and caravans.
(The type B3 safe is one of 6 types of fi***rm safe specified in SANS 953-1).
