Daughter Two | The Ralph Lauren Wedding | 2023

Next up in my journey through four sisters, four weddings, and four completely different design stories: Daughter Two, Mary Grace.

For Mary Grace and Jack’s rehearsal dinner, the design started with who they are.

Jack is an avid outdoorsman, so we incorporated his own hunting trophies throughout the evening—but approached them through the lens of classic American style: collected, layered and sophisticated.

His deer mounts became part of the setting. Turkey fans created a dramatic installation behind the head table. Antler-inspired lanterns, feathers, whiskey and fresh-shucked oysters added to the sporting-club atmosphere.

Then came Mary Grace’s side of the story. A fashion major with an eye for detail, she brought the polish—Chanel, candlelight, silver and roses tucked into vintage silver mint-julep cups.

Masculine met feminine. Sporting met fashion. And somehow it all felt completely natural together.

We called it “The Ralph Lauren Wedding” back in 2023.

But more than a look, it was personal—and that's always where the best design begins.

Daughter One of Four | October 2022

Intentional. It was one of the words we kept coming back to while designing this wedding.

She had always imagined being married at the family home where she grew up. There was a little Father of the Bride romance to the dream—but her own point of view was more layered: Gothic, old-world and unmistakably Southern romantic.

So we created a church where there wasn’t one.

Salvaged architectural pieces from a Boston cathedral helped form the altar. Magnolia trees transformed the landscape into an outdoor sanctuary. Deep reds, burgundy and richly textured florals moved from the bouquets down the aisle and back to the stone façade of the family home.

Nothing was there simply because it was pretty. Every layer was chosen to belong—to the bride, to the setting and to the story.

Looking back at these photographs from 2022, I love that intentional was so central to the conversation then. It’s a word we’re hearing everywhere in design again today.

Perhaps that’s one of my favorite things about design: the best ideas have a way of coming back around.

And this was only the beginning.

One family. Four daughters. Four completely different design stories.

We’ve seen the ceremony. Next, we step inside the reception.

Daughter One of Four 🤍

Four daughters. Four weddings. One family home—transformed differently for each celebration.

We began with an Italian-inspired rehearsal dinner in the front yard of the home where the bride grew up. A little Southern Gothic, a little Father of the Bride—with al fresco dining, candlelight, handsome West Point gentlemen and one gorgeous couple.

Over the next four weeks, I’ll be sharing the design story behind each daughter’s celebration. Same family home. Four completely different personalities.

Would you choose an al fresco rehearsal dinner at home?

The transformation is one of my favorite parts of wedding day.

Before guests arrive, there are hours of preparation, careful placement, and countless thoughtful details that bring a vision to life. Seeing everything come together is always worth the early mornings.

Every ceremony deserves a beautiful beginning.

This floral chuppah became the heart of the ceremony, designed with soft spring blooms and natural movement to frame one of the most meaningful moments of the day. Creating spaces that feel timeless and personal is always my goal.
