It’s been awhile since I posted to my page. I have been journeying deeper into what it means to live a slow life and how does living a slow life resonate with running a business. And how in this day and age of profit and consumption does one run a sustainable business and make a living.

The questions and path weigh heavily on me some days, and I have no answers.

But if I sit with slow and try to follow the natural cycles of the earth I know the path will open before me.

Looking forward to sharing more slow living from my view.

Today I’m feeling nostalgic. Took a walk down memory lane this weekend and popped into for lunch , always such a treat!

Couldn’t help but think about my shop at Stanley, the beauty and charm made me long for one last walk in that shop. I walked away feeling sad but knowing I carry that space in my heart forever. Often we are so caught up in the process of creating that we don’t stop and appreciate just how incredible the moment is.

I have taken solace in the fact that my new STUDIO pays homage to the Stanley shop but is much more personal. I have poured my heart and soul into the studio space, pushing myself to be authentic to the ethos of THE STORER while being vulnerable and honest in all I now do. Each day I stop and give thanks for this new journey appreciate just how far my personal journey has brought me.

In a village nestled between rolling hills and ancient trees, there is a shop unlike any other. It isn’t a store filled with flashy trends or the hum of commerce; it is a place of heart run by someone simply known as THE STORER.

Allow yourself to LIVE fully through experience, FEEL the embrace of connection, and to TREASURE this one precious life we have.

As I tried to map out the journey ahead for me as The Storer, I started by considering what The Storer is not.

* The Storer is not a commodity. Not a brand.
* The Storer is not a retail store, not tied to commerce, profits, or meeting budgets.
* The Storer is not a trend, not a “like,” not a demographic.
* We don’t care about LSMs or spend per household. We are not here to push sales.

In recognizing what we are not, I was reminded of what The Storer truly is.

* The Storer is the whim of the heart, a connection to that deeper part of yourself that remembers beauty.
* The Storer is an experience—a place that engages the senses, urging you to touch, smell, feel, and be present.
* The Storer is a rich tapestry woven from connection and community—a place that feels like home.

We care deeply about the planet and all who inhabit it. We immerse ourselves in the history from which all things have emerged, honouring everything that came before us while being intentional about shaping the future we want to create.

We are The Storer.

You bedroom is a sanctuary!

Last year myself and Lane Reeves from hosted a talk .co discussing the innate functionality of each room in a home.

The kitchen is the heart of a home, a place of gathering, nourishing and nurturing.

The lounge represents our need for community, interaction and connection.

The TV room a cosy space for family and downtime.

But it is the bedroom where we retreat to find sanctuary and rest.

As an antidote to the stress of our fast pace lifestyles it is your bedroom that offers a place of escape to relax and regroup.

We have reinvented our bedroom spaces to include luxurious textiles and heritage pieces from around the globe. By reimagining these spaces we hope to igniting a passion for eclectic space of creativity.

Having travelled extensively and worked with crafters and artisans around the globe, I must say there is something special and alluring about local craft.

Perhaps it’s the vibration of the African continent that manifests through the crafters hands into objects that sing with a humbling rawness.

It’s in the textures, the smells and vibrant colours that I find the feeling of home. By including local craft pieces into our interiors our intention is to ensure each project resonates with its surroundings, AFRICA!

We are proud to be South African and endeavour to reflect this in our interiors. It’s the sensitive use of craft in a sophisticated setting that allows our heritage to shine.
