I'm hard at work in between loadshedding, I'm busy doing a stock take and making sure that every book listed is actually in stock. So far, the remainders are done. When the lights are out, get a lamp and read!

Happy new year to our online customers and everyone who still remembers us from Rosebank and an update:
We were trying to reopen a shop at the end of 2019 but fortunately we didn't, because Covid lockdowns would have been the end of us. Guy Friedmann has since emigrated with his family and the online business remains with an old staff member, Niki Vetten.

Online selling has improved since the pandemic and we decided to remain as an online business only although from time to time I do go to book fairs and markets. If you'd like to collect books from me, you can do so by appointment in Kensington.

I hope to bring more activity to the page again and I'm open to any suggestions about what you'd like to see more of

The bad news is that we still don't have suitable shop premises :(
The good news is that our online shop is now up and running :)
We have over 400 titles listed on our site to choose from, please visit our site and browse through the catalogue to see if there's anything you'd like to buy.
We can post, or we can arrange to meet somewhere for you to collect your books.
Payment will be via EFT only at this stage
You don't need to create an account to shop on our site, one will be created for you if you make a purchase

We have finally closed our doors, a little earlier than anticipated.

Thank you to all our loyal customers who have supported us throughout the last 23 years. We'll let you know as soon as we have found new premises.

We wish all of our customers and friends a safe and happy holiday season and we hope the new year is filled with positive changes.

We will be finally closing our doors on 18 December and our final clearance sale will be starting from today, Monday 30 November. Everything in the shop is now less 75% so come in and buy those books you had your eye on before they are all gone

If you haven't been to visit us recently, we were given terrible news at the beginning of October: the building we are in is to be demolished and all tenants were given notice to leave by the end of December 2015.
We are looking for new premises but haven't found anything suitable yet.
In the meantime we are having a half-price sale, everything in the shop is half price so come in and pick up some books before they are all gone.
We will keep you informed via this page as to when we will be able to reopen and where
