The ScaleStop does not require electricity or chemicals. As water passes through the system, it comes into contact with the catalyst's inner core that releases self-generating electrons into the water which in turn changes the physical structure of the minerals in the water. These electrons are supported with an earth wire that is attached to the unit. The electrons ionize the minerals in the water, breaking it up, resulting in "wetter" water with a looser tension between the molecules. This causes the water to have better wash ability and a better taste. Therefore the ScaleStop inner core acts as a particles disintegrator - a low electric current emanating from the earth wire that is attached to the unit and the friction caused.
