The heart behind Made by Millie 🤍

I’ve always believed there’s beauty in making things work with what you have. I grew up with an extremely frugal mom who could always find a smarter, cheaper alternative to almost anything, and those habits stayed with me into adulthood.

When I became a mom myself, I struggled to find clothes that fit my kids properly. One of my children is tall and skinny, while the other is short and stout, so nothing ever seemed to fit just right. Pants were either the perfect length but too loose around the waist, or they fit the waist perfectly but were far too short.

After getting frustrated trying to make store-bought clothes work, I decided to buy a second-hand sewing machine from my mother-in-law and teach myself how to sew. What started as simply trying to make clothes that fit my children better slowly turned into making pieces for myself too.

And somewhere along the way, Made by Millie was born ✨

What started from necessity became something I truly love. There’s something so special about creating clothing that feels personal, comfortable, and made with care.
