SPRING DINNER - limited availability!

We still have one or two spots left for our once-off Spring dinner served inside the charming old-world space of the Dispens shop and eatery, this Friday 4 September.

Amongst other strandveld delicacies, the menu also features chef Shermonay Marcus' legendary pickled veldkool, pictured here.

SPRING DINNER

We're opening Dispens for a one-night-only spring dinner - with a five-course menu inspired by the sea, and the veld around us.

Start with strandveld snacks and a glass of Cap Classique, then sourdough flatbread with amasi and waterblommetjie. A cool mussel, kelp and cucumber salad follows, and the catch of the day with comforting heerenbone mash and veldkool, closes the savoury courses. Homemade ice-cream to end.

Friday 4 September, 18:30, by appointment.
R850 per person · Seafood only

WINTER BREAK

As the first fires are being lit, and Paternoster is settling into its quieter rhythm, Dispens will be closing its doors for a short winter rest.

Closed: Monday 1 June – Sunday 21 June.
Reopening: Monday 22 June, 9:00.

We can't wait to see you again shortly, ready for waterblommetjies and veldkool.

Last autumn trading day: Sunday 31 May, until 15:00 - come stock up on freshly baked bread, and some preserves and pickles for your wintry pantry.

There’s something I love about stumbling into places like Die Winkel / Dispens 🤍

Unpretentious, beautifully curated, and full of local gems you didn’t know you needed.

We popped in before leaving Paternoster and walked out with a bottle of Cape Rock Grenache, one of those wines that will remind us of this little West Coast town.

If you’re in Paternoster, don’t rush past the little shops. Sometimes the best souvenirs are the ones you drink later 🍷

SUMMER AVAILABILITY

We are excited to release dates for our SUMMER HOLIDAY SEASON tomorrow, 5 September 2024, at 12 noon.

Since it's the peak holiday season, we're again opening bookings for December 2024 and January 2025 simultaneously. For the first time this year, we're also including limited dates in November 2024 in this simultaneous release (parts of November will remain closed for our short pre-summer break).
