Annesi Bindings

Bookbinder & Aspirant Publisher I am Macrina Walker, a craft bookbinder who was trained in a monastic bookbinding studio in the Netherlands.

I now live in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa where I do a limited amount of bookbinding. While my initial work was mainly focused on case binding and book repair (think binding journals for libraries), in recent years I have explored various creative avenues, focusing particularly on Bibles and liturgical books. I am unfortunately not taking custom orders for the foreseeable future, but I hope to

And I should hopefully have a couple of A7 copies of The Wisdom of Saint Isaac the Syrian available early next week.

SHOP UPDATE: I'll post photos on Monday, but this is one of the two Books of the Gospels in Father Lazarus Moore's translation that should be available on annesibindings.com on Monday evening - at 6 pm South African time (GMT +) on Monday, 8 June. I haven't done this design for a while, but it is based on the eighth century Gospel found in the grave of St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne.

I'll post more photos tomorrow, but these two copies of the Coverdale Psalter, the fruit of some experimenting and upskilling, should be available on annesibindings.com tomorrow evening, at 6 pm South African time (GMT/UTC +2) on Monday, 25 May. The prices will be a bit more than usual (I'm still deliberating on what) as they did involve rather more work, especially the green one! I'm not sure if that design will really be viable again, but I do rather like it!
