When people ask, “How are you managing it all?” 😂

Me: business, kids, school stuff, orders, couriers, website issues, laundry, life admin, remembering who needs what when… and occasionally standing in the kitchen staring into space like Barbie.

So yes. Thriving. Obviously. 🤣

But also — somehow, one thing at a time, it does all get done. Mostly. Eventually.

Anyone else managing it all like this? 😅

At the beginning of August, I set myself a goal of selling 1,000 items in one month.

Honestly, I didn’t really think I’d get close. It felt like a big, slightly wild goal at the time.

And now here we are at 926.

That’s 926 pieces of children’s clothing finding new homes this month — and I feel really grateful. Grateful for every order, every share, every kind word, and every person choosing preloved and supporting Nearly New Kids. It genuinely means so much to me.

There’s a lot about running this business that is still hard and still new, so hitting numbers like this feels really special — and humbling too.

We’re now just 74 items away from 1,000… so of course I’m wondering:

Can we do it before August ends? 👀

Secondhand isn’t always perfect — but the service can be. 🤍

While packing an order recently, I noticed that one of the shirts had marks on the sleeve that I hadn’t picked up before.

So I let the customer know, sent the original item AND popped in another shirt as a replacement.

This was her reply. 🥹

I’m a small business. There will occasionally be mistakes, missed marks and things that don’t go exactly to plan.

What I can promise is that I’ll always try to make it right.

A few things you might not know:

✨ The average item is around R80
🏷️ There are 325 brand-new, tags-on items
👶 Sizes start at teeny tiny prem
👟 And can go ALL the way into adult sizes
🔎 Searching completely random words like rainbow, elephant or ice cream can uncover actual treasures
😂 And yes… there is currently a pair of Woolies bloomers for R15.47

The danger is going in for school shorts and emerging 40 minutes later with tiny Converse, a dinosaur jumper and something you absolutely did not know you needed.

Basically: don’t browse NNK with a plan.

Go have a rummage. Search something weird. Try your size. See what you find. 👀

And if you discover something ridiculous/amazing, PLEASE tell me what you searched for. 😂
