THE POLLINATORS KNOW BEST 🐝🌺

A little throwback to my garden last November - and two plants that had the bees absolutely buzzing!

The poppies were a hive of activity, with bees disappearing into the flowers and emerging covered in pollen. And then there was the milk thistle - another absolute favourite.

It is moments like these that remind me why I love planting for pollinators. You don't need a huge garden. Just make a little space and see who comes to visit.

Spring is around the corner, so now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you'd like to plant.

And if you'd like to add some milk thistle to your garden, we actually have a few saplings available. 🌿

FROM KITCHEN SCRAPS TO 5KG OF POTATOES.

This week's little harvest brought me more than 5kg of potatoes! 😍

How? I had a few potatoes from Organic Footprints that had been sitting in the kitchen a little too long and started sprouting. Instead of throwing them out, I planted them.

And look what happened.

It's one of the reasons I always encourage people to grow something of their own food, even if it's just a small percentage. There is something very special about eating what you've grown yourself. What a blessing.

And now for the REAL reason I harvested them... crispy oven-baked potatoes.

I don't really follow recipes. I'm usually inspired by what I have growing, what looks good in the garden and the beautiful food I see in my favourite food magazines.

For these, I picked a generous handful of fresh herbs — origanum, lemon thyme and rosemary. Pesticide-free herbs are little packets of goodness, so I say the more the merrier!

Into a bowl with: Potatoes, Fresh Herbs, Your favourite Herbal Salt, Cold pressed macadamia oil...

Toss it all together, spread onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 200°C until golden and crispy.

Honestly... once you've tasted potatoes like this, you may never look at deep-fried chips the same way again.

Grow a little. Harvest a little. Cook simply. Eat well.

Katie seems to think bath time is a spa treatment. 🐾

As a rescue, she has been such a blessing in our lives. Every day she reminds me that some of the very best pets are simply waiting for someone to give them a chance.
