While reading up on our cultures, philosophies, backgrounds & languages, I was fascinated to learn that the language developed for the blockbuster movie Black Panther was inspired by one of the most ancient languages on our continent. From decades, centuries of being depicted as less than, the film creators’ quest to pay homage to lost languages - Nsibidi in that case - and reflect our beauty brought with it glimpses of our true essence. There was a kind of magic in witnessing our royalty celebrated.
