I get many messages asking what bait I use and where I’m fishing, here’s the short answer:

I believe most of the bigger dams in South Africa hold trophy carp. It’s more about finding them and presenting the right bait in the right place.

If I had to choose one particle bait, it would be White Choc Tigernuts or Pineapple X Tigernuts from DB Baits South Africa.

And if I could choose one boilie, it would be The Source from Dynamite Baits.

Simple baits, but they’ve caught me plenty of quality fish over the years.

Don’t get too caught up in chasing the “perfect” bait or lake.
Find the fish, fish with confidence, put in the hours and trust your watercraft. The next trophy could be waiting in a dam you’ve been overlooking.
