It’s been a busy few weeks supporting the International Schools Chess Federation (ISCF) in preparing for its first African leg, and today it all came together at the Coetzenburg Centre in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

The African Continental Stage of the FIDE ISCF World Schools Team Championship 2026 has officially begun - the first time this prestigious event has been held on the African continent.

26 school teams representing 22 African countries are competing for their place in the Grand Final, making this a landmark moment for school chess in Africa.

A proud moment for House of Chess. We’re honoured to have played a part in bringing this landmark event to Africa and wish all the participating teams the very best over the coming days!
