I knew that 2023 was going to be a year to remember, however the first quarter has already surpassed my expectations!
Last night my team and I received the New Hotel Opening Team Impact Award at the IMEA GM Learning Event 2023 Award Ceremony in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
My lifelong personal aspiration of opening a hotel came true just over a year ago. It has been a year of many firsts for the team and I at an IHG Hotel and I am proud to share that we have gone from success to success after opening at the end of a pandemic.
We have achieved 100% occupancy in the first 10 months of opening, just celebrated our 1st birthday and are currently in our highest grossing month since opening (speaking of birthdays…it’s my 40th birthday today and I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate it).
I would like to thank for believing in the vision of this property and bringing the voco brand to life on the African continent, a milestone for many of us, and for the continued support that I have been afforded. I value the insights and guidance that you have provided.
Thanks also go out to and for allowing me the opportunity to build my own team and run this amazing hotel, and for the trust that have in me. A special shout out to Andrea Frignani for accepting the award on behalf of myself and my team last night in Riyadh.
