A special moment layout created by Susan Venter with the Penelope Dee BLUEPRINT collection.
Susan Venter usually finishes her layouts with a machine-stitched border, but for this project featuring the BLUEPRINT collection, she decided to try something different by creating a stapled border instead. To create the background, she dabbed Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Ink onto a plastic wrapper, lightly spritzed it with water, and pressed it onto the white cardstock. Once dry, she used a blending brush, stencil and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink to add subtle detail on and around the inked areas. Layers of journal cards provide the perfect foundation for the photo, while fussy cut foliage and buttons form beautiful wreaths on both sides. Hand embroidered French knots, Blueprint Sketch ink splatters, Embellish-it button stickers, a denim label and tiny hand drawn stars add the perfect finishing touches, creating a layout filled with texture, dimension and charming handmade details.
