With only 91 days to Christmas, the retail stores shelves are already packed with Christmas decor, so I guess it’s time to start thinking about what your Christmas decor & wrapping will look like this year.

Meet FAITH. As The Gift Wrap Studio celebrates 10 years this month, I want to celebrate Faith.

Faith has been part of my life for over 15 years. She started as my helper, but somewhere along the way she became so much more than that. She is an integral part of my life, my home, my business, and honestly, she is more like a sister to me than anything else.

When The Gift Wrap Studio was in concept stage, Faith was my first victim, every gift wrapping technique, every class idea, all the experimenting, I tried it all on her. I would teach her, watch her do it, tweak it, teach again, and after all this time, she has become a skilled wrapper in her own right. Fast forward 10 years and Faith now assists me with our big corporate gifting orders. She can wrap, create, style and problem-solve. Im incredibly proud of her. I’ve taught her so much over the years, but she teaches me too. Giving someone the opportunity to learn, create and grow is exceptionally rewarding.

So as I celebrate 10 years of The Gift Wrap Studio, I couldn’t celebrate without celebrating Faith.

Thank you for 15+ years of loyalty, hard work, creativity, laughter and for looking out for me always, thank you for being such a special part of my life.

Here’s to everything we have created together, and everything still to come ❤️

Who says you need gift wrap to wrap a gift?

I recently heard someone say, “I use gift bags because I don’t have gift wrap paper at home.”

And it got me thinking…

You don’t always need a roll of beautiful wrapping paper, a stash of ribbons and a cupboard full of gift-wrapping supplies to make a gift look special.

Sometimes you just need to make a plan!

Think old newspapers, Magazine pages, Brown paper, Fabric scraps. Even…a roll of tin foil will do the trick.

So I decided to experiment.

I scrunched up some ordinary kitchen foil, smoothed it out again to create that lovely crinkled texture, and wrapped a box. No ribbon? No problem. I made a flower from the leftover foil and used it as my gift topper.

And you know what? I LOVE how it turned out!

It’s unexpected, tactile, a little bit quirky and completely unique — and it cost me absolutely nothing.

So before you reach for that gift bag… have a look around your home.

You might be surprised by what you can turn into a beautifully wrapped gift.

The best gift wrapping doesn’t always come from the shop. Sometimes it comes from your imagination.

Hand made gift envelope. Perfect for inserting gifts that have little structure, think a soft scarf, lingerie etc. once the envelope pocket was folded, we concertinaed the envelope flap and punched holes through the folds to thread a bright pink velvet ribbon to add a pop of colour to the white & black design. Top tip: when making gift envelopes, use wallpaper!
