A huge shout out to Precious Paws for donating a good, solid metal travel crate after one of the SAM crates had been chewed to pieces by a frightened and very strong little Pitbul on his way back post steri last Thursday.
The dogs that are taken to VetCare for sterilisaton are often completely untrained, dont understand leads or crates or any instruction and their fear is palpable. They can become incredibly destructive in their attempts to escape.
Needless to say, good, solid metal travel crates dont come cheap, so we sincerely appreciate this donation. 🐾🥰

Beautiful sunshine today and we will continue with the 50% sale on all winter clothing (mens' and ladies) and on all trousers (men's and ladies) at the SAM Charity Shop today.
We are open from 10h00 until 14h00🐾 weekdays and 09h00 until 13h00 on Saturdays.

Yes! The SAM Charity Shop WILL be open today, 10 August 2026, as usual from 10h00 until 14h00🐾. Our friendly volunteers will be there to help you.
We are situated at No. 4 Swallow Drive, Shop 10 (Opposite Sotheby's in Sedgefield). Pop by and have a browse.

We have clothing, books, CDs, glassware, knick-knacks, plastic goods, toys - You may just pick up THAT bargain!

All money raised by our Charity Shop are used to fund the running of Sedgefield Animal Matters, which is a volunteer run organisation, focusing on sterilisation and care of the less fortunate animals in our community.

We happily accept donations, but unfortunately cannot accept old study books (e.g. Windows 2020, old law books, old accounting books), we can't take broken appliances or Readers' Digest Condensed books. Our space is limited, and we have to stock sellable goods.

Come and meet Roxy who lost her home with the Malawian evacuations. She is a beautiful girl looking for her Furever home.

Our adoption team will be at the SAM Charity Shop tomorrow from 09h00 to 12h00.

PLEASE NOTE that our Animal Welfare Inspector, Colleen Thysse, will be away from today (Friday, August 7th) until Monday 10 August, returning to work on Tuesday 11 August 🐾. There will be NO SAM SERVICE during that period.

During this period, KAWS will respond to URGENT matters only and there will be a cost involved.
