Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s Vryheid Run at AbaQulusi Plaza! Despite the cold, nearly 400 runners took part!

10km Men's race winners:
1st place: Samukelo Ngobese (Bellas AC)
2nd place: Sizwe Ngobese (Biggersberg AC)
3rd place: Ntando Ximba (Biggersberg AC)

10km Women's race winners:
1st place: Kwanele Sikhakhane (Maxed Elite Running Club)

We were so pleased to see people from the community supporting the runners, and the kids enjoying the jumping castles and entertainment. Thank you to ISMO Athletics CLUB, Inkamana Athletics Club, the AbaQulusi Local Municipality, and everyone who came out to make this a day to remember.

Fraud is on the rise, and community members are encouraged to remain vigilant. Criminals are constantly using new methods to steal money and personal information.

*Common Types of Fraud*

- Fake bank calls or SMS messages requesting your PIN, OTP, or banking details.

- WhatsApp and social media scams where criminals impersonate family members or friends asking for money.

- Online shopping scams involving fake products or sellers.

- Investment and job scams promising unrealistic returns or guaranteed employment.

- ATM scams where fraudsters offer to "help" you during transactions.

*How to Protect Yourself*

- Never share your banking PIN, passwords, or One-Time Password (OTP) with anyone.

- Verify requests for money by contacting the person directly using a trusted phone number.
