The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) comes into full effect on 1 July 2021. This communication forms part of such care, while trying to continue serving as Administrators in voluntary service of the community at large. In terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), please take note of the following:
1. Your membership of this Group is voluntary, and related to your desire to remain aware of issues in the community that may affect you, and the occasional need to communicate issues to the Administrators of the Group;
2. Everything we know about you is related to your membership of this Group, and what you disclose on your own profile and in messages on this Group;
3. The Administrators of this Group keep no additional information about you, stored on any other location or medium;
4. What is known about you will be used only for the purposes intended, in terms of Community Service matters;
5. Administrators view memberships of this group as anonymous, until specifically identified according to incidental need;
6. Each member of this Group is equally bound by POPIA, in terms of protection of personal information of other persons. Abuse of Membership, in terms of placing unwarranted advertisements, sharing membership data, and generally disclosing personal details shared here will be met with immediate removal. In such instances, the Administrators of this Group reserve the right to legal sanction or facilitation of such;
7. While Administrators of this Group may already be bound to certain requirements in terms of one or more Acts applicable to Social Media in South Africa, this Group is voluntary and as such not Administered on a full-time basis. Visible transgressions are handled as they are discovered and handled offline as are complaints. Your continued membership of this Group indicates acceptance of the above conditions, and absolution of the Administrators of this Group against any claims related to Membership of the Group and the purposes of its existence.
