What a year it’s been!
Plenty of farming… and hardly any fishing. So it felt damn good to finally get back to the water this week with a solid mate and do what we truly love most — some proper winter fishing. 🎣❄️
There’s nothing quite like going head-to-head with a decent musselcracker. The fight is always intense — and this one was no different. We hooked this fish in a seriously foul, shallow, reefy spot. In those conditions, there’s only one thing to do: hit and hold!
And that’s exactly what Chris did. He locked down the drag on his Saragosa and let the Okuma Euphoria do the talking — and it absolutely dis just that. The cracker put on a proper show, darting for every ledge and mussel bank it could find. But with some well-timed teamwork and a bit of help from the incoming sets, we got it over the ledge and into a gully for a safe landing.
This was one of those unforgettable battles — one we’ll both remember for years to come. Huge congrats on your PB musselcracker, my friend — you earned that one. 💪🔥
The fish was safely sampled, tagged, and released to fight another day. Here’s to future generations getting the same thrill! 🙌🐟
