After 25 yesrs of a remarkable creative collaboration, the Craft Market at Spier has now closed after its final Season.

What began as a national showcase for the Summer Arts Festival in 2000, evolved into a dynamic seasonal platform for a curated group of creative entrepreneurs. With beaded or ‘random’ wirework, textiles, ceramics, slumped glass and more it has been a vibrant space for browsing, buying authentic handmade pieces and chatting to the artisans as they worked.  You could even try your hand at making something yourself – popular with visitors of all ages.
 
We thank Spier for the 25 wonderful years of working together and are grateful for all that we, as the Craft Market family, co-created together.  We feel proud of the many beautiful items designed, the sense of community we built and the thousands of visitors made happy by their interaction with us.  We did well. 

Now on to something new.  Watch this space

Today at the Craft Market at Spier, bead and wire artist, Bongani Khumalo, at work on his latest masterpiece sculpture of a cheetah in motion.

From one-off sculptures and masterpieces to small gifts, the Craft Market at Spier has something for everyone. Here are just a few of the collector's pieces currently on display, which we ship anywhere in the world. Many of our customers are avid collectors of African art, who appreciate the hand of a master in a multitude of mediums.

Visit us on the lawns beside the new canal, below the wine centre at Spier Wine Farm , to see the latest pieces (new sculptures landing often throughout the season). Or ask us for an update on new pieces when they become available to get first option on some world class artworks.

Open daily 10am to 6.30pm (weather permitting) over the holiday season.

Kids are having a ball with our making experiences at The Craft Market at Spier over the holidays!

Yesterday they were busy and engaged for hours making wire and bead scorpions and spiders with Simba, and jewellery with Meschell. There are different making options everyday, depending on which artists are there. And Tafara fascinated the kids with a demonstration of his handmade Jacobs Ladders, perfect stocking fillers.

The market is open at Spier Wine Farm daily 10am until 6.30pm (weather dependant) and is the perfect way to shop, and entertain and engage the kids, keeping them busy while the adults are wine tasting, or just relaxing over a picnic.
PS The making experiences are for adults too, so get creative and make your own gifts this Christmas!

It's looking a lot like Christmas at the Craft Market at Spier! Put Spier Wine Farm on your family holiday must-do list, and shop for stocking fillers and gorgeous hand-made gifts. Or get creative with one of our making experiences and make your own gifts, with the guidance of our artists.
Make a day of it and explore everything else Spier has to offer, from Segway tours and Eagle Encounters to picnics and wine tasting, ice creams, deli treats and lunch at Vadas.

The Craft Market is open daily 10am to 6.30pm (depending on demand) over the holiday period. Can't wait to see you here!

Just landed at the Craft Market at Spier!
This stunning fish eagle is a bead and wire masterpiece by George Dokora, and we're sure it will be flying out again to a new home in no time at all. So visit us soon at Spier Wine Farm for a glimpse of this sculpture and many more beautiful collectors' pieces.

We're loving the vibe at The Craft Market at Spier as we continue building up for the season. We're now open for trading and making experiences, as we put the finishing touches to the displays.
Our artists are bringing some fabulous new designs and artworks, several of which are being snapped up by enthusiastic collectors and visitors almost before they go on display.

We're excited to be building up The Craft Market at Spier again for a new season! This weekend our pop-up shop will be open with our popular making experiences on Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd October, while we continue to build up. Then the full market starts operating Wednesday to Sunday from next week.
Find us below the Wine Centre at Spier Wine Farm next to the newly landscaped water channel. We can't wait to see you all again for a summer of creativity and fun with our wonderful artists.

Our Craft Market pop up is loving this winter sunshine! Find us on the Werf at Spier Wine Farm near the deli, and join one of our artists for a making experience, and shop for beautiful handmade crafts and artworks.
We're open 10h00 till 16h30 all the long weekend, including Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th August.
