Burnedale Farm - Where time is well spent
Burnedale Bistro (0329470133), Abbiocco Italian Restaurant (0823098073), Animal Farm, Play Area, Studio Shops, Hair Salon, Beauty Salon Burnedale Farm & Nursery, a farm transformed into a beautiful venue where you can be inspired, get creative, shop for unqiue things & enjoy a meal, the children can have endless amount of fun:- visit the farm yard, play on the jungle gyms or rally up a group of friends and play hide n seek ! On the 3rd May 1843 he arrived in Cape Town aboard the H.M.S Thunderer and was sent to Natal that July. In 1850 John was stationed at Umhlali and in 1857,now a seargent, he married Isobella Tyson on the 8th May. In 1861 he finished his 21 years of service and recieved his Good Conduct Medal and a pension of 50 pounds per annum. In 1862 John moved to Umhlali as a messenger of the court and built his home on this current site “Burnedale” where he remained until his death in 1905. The original house stood until the 1970’S when it was demolished and rebuilt as it stands today. It has been the home of various Milsteads. Peggy Tyson married Douglas Milstead and had Barry, Wendy and Trevor. Trevor and Di lived here until moving to Karibu, where upon, Doug and Peggy took residence and lived here for many years. Even after Doug passed on, Peggy remained tending her beloved garden. The garden is testemony to her love of plants.

Burnedale Farm, Umhlali currently has two exciting office spaces available, set within the peaceful Burnedale gardens and surrounded by coffee shops, eateries and that relaxed farm atmosphere we all love.

Choose from a 70 sqm open-plan office/light workshop space, or a larger office block comprising 3 offices with a communal kitchen, lounge and meeting space.

Both spaces include prepaid electricity with backup power and on-site security during working hours.
