What is a Hi-Fi and why it matters!

The term Hi-Fi has become dated, almost anachronistic. Hi-Fi is being true to the original sound and maintaining faithfulness to the music. Ask someone what they call the device they use to listen to music today, and the common response is, Bluetooth speaker, soundbar or earbuds. While these serve a purpose be it portable audio or augmented TV sound, they are incapable of achieving a Hi-Fi’s objective which is to fool your brain that the musicians are in the room with you. This requires two full range speakers correctly positioned in relation to the listener, powered by an amplifier of sufficient headroom with low harmonic distortion receiving music from an accurate source. The recent installation of the below system meets these criteria. Rega P3 turntable, NAD C399 amplifier and KEF Q11 Meta speakers correctly setup and calibrated. A fantastic Hi-Fi!
